Advanced Inclusive Insurance Supervision Program

This virtual, five-half day program is designed to enhance supervisors' capacity to promote inclusive insurance, to effectively regulate and supervise expansion of insurance to the underserved segments of society, and develop sustainable and inclusive financial systems.

Through case studies and group discussions, participants will increase their understanding of:

  • Relevant policy, supervisory, and operational aspects for proportional approaches.
  • Improving access to insurance services for low-income consumers.
  • The application of sound supervisory principles and practices in the insurance sector.

Methodology:

This course will be taught by Toronto Centre program leaders who have a wealth of highly relevant experience to share with participants in order to help them carry out their work in line with international best practices and to address challenges that they may encounter in their supervisory and regulatory work.

The Toronto Centre uses a highly interactive teaching approach using case studies, lectures, and exercises and participants must work in table groups on group activities on issues raised in the case studies and lectures.

Target Audience:

The program is designed for mid- to senior-level staff and managers involved in insurance regulatory, supervisory, or enforcement functions that regulate and supervise the financial services industry, or additional activities responsible for spreading the reach and inclusiveness of insurance.

Participants should have at least three years of working experience in the financial sector, specifically in  insurance supervision, analysis, policy, or enforcement, and be proficient in English.
